20 August 07
Dear third graders and families,
We started school today! What a fun time we are having organizing the rooms and preparing for you! We are planning exciting, challenging learning activities for each of you. But school can’t really start until you arrive!
In considering our year, we think the students should each bring a pair of old shoes for wandering about in shallow water and an old towel for drying off afterward. We may also sit on our old towels when we read outside. Please put each child’s name on the shoes and towel as these items will stay at school throughout the year.
We will be meeting the new students on Thursday and everyone at registration and the Family Picnic on Friday. Then off we go as classes begin on Monday. If you haven’t finished reading those summer books, enjoy your last weekend of reading before school conversations about the books begin on Monday, August 27th between
Mrs. Layton and Dr. Kimble
